Resale Royalty Public Roundtable, April 23, 2013:
The Copyright Office is holding a public roundtable on resale royalty issues discussed in the Office's March 29, 2013 Notice of Inquiry. The roundtable will be held in Room 408 of the Madison Building of the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Ave, Washington, D.C. SE, 20559 from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. The discussions will be held in a roundtable format during which participants will discuss various questions posed by the Office. The Office will not be accepting written statements during the roundtable discussions, and, while participants are encouraged to fully engage in the discussion, there will not be time for participants to read individual statements.
The schedule for the roundtable discussions, which includes the dates and times for specific topics, is set forth below. As shown in the schedule, the roundtable discussions have been divided into four panels that cover the specific topics listed in the March 29, 2013 Notice of Inquiry. The deadline to request participation in roundtable is April 12, 2013.
Due to space constraints, the Office cannot guarantee that it will be able to accommodate every request. To maximize the number of viewpoints presented, the Office will accept only one representative per entity as a participant on a particular panel (although an entity may request to have different representatives on different panels). The Office will consider such requests in light of the space available and the goal of maximizing the perspectives represented during the roundtable discussions process.
The Office will also provide members of the public with the opportunity to observe the roundtable. Note, however, that space is limited due to the size of the roundtable discussions room. The Office will admit observers on a first come, first serve basis. To allow for a diverse audience, we ask that entities limit any observers to one per panel.
The Office is making arrangements to transcribe the proceedings and will post the transcripts on the Office website.
