COPYRIGHT OFFICE ANNOUNCES NEW PROCEDURE FOR HAND DELIVERIES TO GENERAL COUNSEL'S OFFICE

The Copyright Office is adopting a new policy for delivering documents to the Office of the General Counsel. Effective February 9, 2004, all hand deliveries from private parties for the Copyright Office General Counsel, including all comments in rulemaking proceedings, all filings in a Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel proceeding, and all litigation-related materials, must be delivered to the Public Information Office of the Copyright Office. The Public Information Office is located in Room LM-401 on the fourth floor of the James Madison Memorial Building of the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C., near the Capitol South Metro stop. The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except federal holidays. For further information click here.


COPYRIGHT OFFICE PUBLISHES LIST OF ELIGIBLE CARP ARBITRATORS

The Copyright Office is publishing the list of arbitrators eligible for service on a Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel (CARP) during 2004 and 2005. This list will be used to select the arbitrators who will serve on panels initiated in 2004 and 2005 for determining the distribution of royalty fees or the adjustment of royalty rates. Mar. 1: Deadline for receipt of claims to the 2003 DART royalties. However, note that the Office encourages claimants who file online to do so by February 29, 2004. Claims filed online must be received on the Office's server by 11:59 p.m. EST on March 1, 2004.
