Proposals for Classes of Works to Be Exempted from the Prohibition on Circumvention Posted on Copyright Office Website
The Copyright Office has received proposals for classes of works to be exempted from the prohibition on circumvention of technological measures that control access to copyrighted works. This is the first step in the Office's triennial rulemaking under 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(1)(C)-(D). The Office will soon announce the early February 2012 deadline for submission of comments supporting and opposing the proposals as well as the early March 2012 deadline for submission of reply comments.
