INTERIM REGULATIONS ISSUED ON REGISTRATION OF VESSEL HULL DESIGNS

(expected publication date in Federal Register: July 1)

The Copyright Office is adopting interim regulations to implement the

registration process for original designs of vessel hulls protected

under the Vessel Hull Design Protection Act, 17 U.S.C. chapter 13. The

Office is requesting comment on the regulations from interested

parties. The Office is also requesting comment on proposals regarding

the procedure for canceling a registration. The interim regulations

are expected to be published in the Federal Register on July 1 but may

be viewed today on the Copyright Office Website at

www.copyright.gov/vessels. Registration Form D-VH is also

available now from the same Website. The Copyright Office will begin

accepting Form D-VH on July 1. The due dates for comments and reply

comments will appear in the Federal Register.
