Electronic System for Designating Agents under DMCA Updated Today
Issue No. 661 - May 10, 2017

Today, the U.S. Copyright Office issued a new release of its electronic system to designate and search for agents to receive notifications of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). As a result of user feedback, this release updates the user account creation process to make it simpler and easier to complete.

In connection with this release, the Office has issued a non-substantive final rule, effective today, making conforming technical amendments to 37 C.F.R. § 201.38. More information about the final rule is available here.
