Quarterly Recordation System Webinars
To keep the public informed about the Recordation System, the Office hosted a quarterly, forty-five-minute webinar that covered announcements about the system, important reminders, frequently asked questions, and a live question-and-answer session.
There are no upcoming virtual sessions currently planned.
Please reach out to our Help page if you have any questions or need assistance. You can also sign up to receive updates on Notices of Termination by clicking on “receive updates” in the Recordation System portal.
About the Recordation System: The ECS Recordation system allows any member of the public to electronically record transfers of copyright and other documents that fall under section 205 of Title 17. The system has many features and benefits including faster processing times than paper submission, status tracking, online payment, and convenient online access to digital certificates and numbered documents. Although the system does not currently allow users to record notices of termination, the Office is developing this functionality for future release. Please note: the Recordation System is separate from the Office’s electronic registration system (eCO), which is used to submit and process applications to register copyrights in works.
